Re-use & adaptation

The following projects are those that show the potential of existing buildings to be adapted and re-used for alternative uses. Here we have a meeting foyer/function space, a visitors centre/cafe and artist studio.

The Wain House is in the care of a Charitable Trust with the objectives of preserving and restoring the property for the benefit of the public, providing facilities for community events, education and performances.

This site contained existing structures that formed the hospital to Defford air base, built in 1942.  The first phase of work has provided a reception area, toilets, exhibition space and a large canteen.

This distinctive octagonally shaped dovecote, built in 1641 and grade II listed has been included as part of the artistic & educational development programme at Hellens.
